Lat Lonto Points

This tool generates a set of points based on a csv file with columns for latitude and longitude.

Here is a sample dataset

You can upload this into AURIN by selecting the import button. This will simply import the rows and columns as a table.
To generate points from this data, go to Tools>spatial data manipulation > lat lon to points

  • Sometimes the field names are ‘X’ and ‘Y’ – remember latitute is ‘Y’
  • Use EPSG:4283/WGS84 coordinates
  • Remember latitude values need to be negative for Australian/Southern Hemisphere data
